Sommerfest at Mayfair - May 22nd thru 26th
 Sommerfest at Mayfair

The Lehigh Saengerbund, the German-American Society of the Lehigh Valley, presents Sommerfest in the Valley 2008.  Because the Mayfair and Sommerfest festivals were closely scheduled (just 10 days apart) the executive boards of both festivals unanimously decided to bring the two festivals together during the five day period culminating on Memorial Day.  Sommerfest at Mayfair will have its own unique identity in its own area, but will be included within the overall Mayfair venue for the benefit of both festivals.

This inaugural festival, celebrating Germanic heritage and culture, will be held at Cedar Beach Park from Thursday, May 22, through Monday, May 26, 2008.  See Mayfair Festival of the Arts

Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski and Lehigh Saengerbund, the valley’s German-American society, announce an exciting new event to be launched in the summer of 2008.

Lehigh Saengerbund began as a traditional, family-oriented singing society formed in 1858 in Allentown. While maintaining its musical roots, the organization has since developed a focus on cultivating and strengthening German-American culture and traditions. This most recent endeavor will combine all of that – the music, culture, and traditions – in a way that promises to entertain everyone, whether German or otherwise.

Held at noon on the 10th floor of the Hamilton Financial Center, 640 Hamilton Street in Allentown. (the 10-story former Wachovia Building at the corner of 7th & Hamilton Streets).
